The Centre for Teletraffic Engineering for the Information Society was started in 1997 when Telkom was rolling out its Centres of Excellence. The purpose was and still is to build strong specialist centres, which focus on specific areas. In 2007 it was decided to change the acronym of CeTEIS to Centre for Telecommunication Engineering for the Information Society. CeTEIS is a joint collaboration with Department of Computer Science.
CeTEIS have a number of bursary opportunities available. The closing date is 30 October of each year.
**IMPORTANT NOTE - The Maximum bursary values have changed and are now Hons R60k, Masters R80k(1) p.a. and for PhD R120k(1) p.a. * (1)Includes a R20k performance bonus, only payable after successful completion of all requirements.
